The Song Festival Concert will advance the Festival’s theme through the concept of the cycle of life. You will enjoy a fusion of Lithuanian culture, traditions, folk and popular songs from both Lithuania and abroad. Our songs, including new songs commissioned especially for this Festival and composed in both North America and Lithuania, will be the link between the visual and the spoken components of the program. Having undertaken the responsibility of organizing the Song Festival, we never imagined that so many people would volunteer to assist our efforts. Currently, there are about 100 of you, of all ages, generations, born both in Lithuania and here, and from all walks of life: professionals in their own right, successful business entrepreneurs, community leaders, musicians, composers, choir leaders – all of whom are contributing from their hearts and souls to create a Festival that will be a shining star in our Canadian Lithuanian undertakings. A heartfelt thank you to everyone! read more…

What a thrill to meet with my chorister friends again, three years after the amazing VIII Song Festival in Chicago. Those who didn‘t attend this seminar, eat your hearts out! Not only did you miss hearing the most exciting repetoire, but also the food – crepes with cheese, marinated chicken stuffed with apricots, kugelis, cepelinai and even šakotis! As Jurgita from St. Paul said: “If we had had some napoleon torte, this truly would have been heaven on earth!“ Allow me to share a few highlights from this year‘s seminar. read more…
