Festival preparations have brought together many different groups of people, from oldest to youngest. We value everyone’s contributions—their ideas, skills, encouragement, donations and time. 

Thanks to fund-raising committee member Kristina Dambaraitė-Janovicz, a group of high school volunteers recently spent several hours helping out with our direct mail fundraising campaign. Working with us and the Lithuanian Canadian Foundation, chatting and listening to music, they stuffed thousands of envelopes.  Unlike typical commercial mail campaigns, your envelope was likely prepared by someone who recognized your name!

We’re delighted to announce that the Lithuanian Canadian Youth Association is donating $5000 worth of volunteer hours to the Festival. Managed by Viktoras Šimkus and LCYA president Rūta Samonytė, they’ll be working at all of the venues, the information centre, arts and crafts fair and buses.  They’ll also be assisting with souvenir and program sales and anywhere else they’re needed.  You won’t be able to miss them, as they’ll be wearing orange t-shirts featuring the panorama of Toronto on the front and a giant question mark on the back.
