A Family Celebration

“Hello my dears, today my heart is celebrating!” No, our artistic director is not referring to the Song Festival, but to a special family event: the marriage of her son Darius to Liana Šipelytė. The Viskontas, Skrinskas, Šipelis and Šapokas families and their friends gathered in Vancouver, at the foot of the majestic Rockies and on the shore of the beautiful Pacific Ocean, to witness the couple‘s first steps into a new life.
After Msgr. Edmundas Putrimas performed the ceremony at the Cathedral, the guests were chauffeured by bus and boat to the reception in North Vancouver. The next morning, after brunch, the newlyweds set off by seaplane to their honeymoon in Tofino.
The wedding followed a trek by all of the cousins, a week earlier, to the Mount Everest base camp (at 17 000 feet!) with their uncle Dr. Gailius Skrinskas.
