Announcements

Effective June 1, 2009, there has been a CHANGE TO THE TYPES OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTS required for INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL BY U.S. CITIZENS.  This applies when entering Canada and re-entering the U.S.

There are some exceptions for young travellers:

Children under the age of 16 travelling ONLY BY LAND may use a birth certificate or copy.

Children under the age of 19 travelling ONLY BY LAND and with a CULTURAL GROUP (eg. a choir) may use a birth certificate or copy.  The group’s supervising adult(s) must carry an official letter showing detailed information about the group members and supervisor(s) and stating that parent/guardian permission for travel has been obtained.

Please review the detailed information at www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/vacation/ready_set_go/land_travel/

If you don’t yet have one of the required documents, we encourage you to APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, as there is a minimum wait of 4 – 6 weeks. Delays may be longer at certain times of year (for example, closer to the summer holidays). If you already have a valid document, please check that it will NOT EXPIRE PRIOR TO YOUR RETURN HOME from the Festival.
